Mother’s Day Charity Flower Show for UNICEF at Elements
The Hong Kong Academy of Flower Arrangement (hkafa) hosted a charity floral exhibition showcasing inspiring floral pieces designed by the Principal Theresa Lam, also Head of Corporate Services, and made by the hkafa senior international and local students from International Trendy Floral Art team, The exhibition was open to public from May 1 – 15, 2011, highlighting feature a series of more than 20 visually stunning floral compositions – floor standing and table top in different sizes and scales. With a concoction of fresh-cut and artificial flowers, the Zen-inspired displays are t the pieces to be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds to support UNICEF. The highest bid price for one floor standing design was HK$21,800. ! Thanks to the generous donor !
Themed ‘Spring Blossoms’, the exhibition saw the creation of hkafa students and teachers on simple, elegant yet striking contemporary designs, and by using an eclectic mix of different colours including pink, purple, white, green and brown. The bi-colour and tri-colour pastel tone are perfectly accentuated with white or black wooden/ceramic as well as metal silvery grey vase. Among the myriad of spring blooms on display are Alliums, Hydrangea, Bella Donna Lily, Bamboo and many more.
