The Most Popular All Rounded Starter Diploma Course

CPD includes all the essential skills for Flower Arrangement, Bridal Bouquets and Floral Gift Design as covered in courses EFA, JPBB & FG. One would achieve the CPD designation in approx. 4 months’ time. The duration of the course and all materials covered are equivalent to EFA, JPBB and FG courses if enrolled separately.

Module 1 – EFA. Modern European Floral Design Concepts

Introduces the various concepts of Modern European flower arrangements.
Presentations of informal and modern line designs, free styles and many practical daily design concepts, e.g. table flowers, corner designs, welcoming design, etc. The correct way of arranging different material and develop correct habits in foam arrangement method. Proportions of lines, material techniques and how to capture the characteristics of many floral materials are covered in detail with step-by-step demonstrations by tutors. Some flower care and color use concepts will be touched.
Different impressive modern European design concepts will be taught.

Module 2 – JPBB. Jane Packer Wedding Bouquet Arrangements

Teaches the JANE PACKER techniques of making corsages, headdresses, bridal bouquets (both modern and classic styles). Bride’s maid bouquets, wrist flowers, waistband for flower girl.

Wiring and assembling techniques, making tulles and bouquet bows.

Students can learn the usage of different kinds of seasonal cut flowers and foliages. Lilies, Cymbidiums, Orchids, Roses, Calla Lilies, Sun Flowers, Berzelias, Eucalyptus, Ruscus, Dracaena, etc. will be used.

Tips on how to prepare bouquets and corsages to make them more long-lasting and good conditioned. Emphasis on skills and how to design a right sized bouquet for the bride and in what kind of ceremony will be covered.

Module 3 – FG. Creative Floral Gift Design

Designed for those who are interested in floral gift design and packaging, and for those who want to work in the flower shop.

6 designs of Japanese and European bouquets, 10 floral gift designs including European country style basket wraps, fruit flower baskets, Japanese floral gift boxes and other specially designed floral gifts for different occasions.
Introduces gift-wrap materials and accessories, papers, the use of ribbons and different kinds of bows making.

Emphasis will be put on how to make the gift simple but impressive to the recipient. Color matching ideas and the use of flowers for special occasions and greetings will be introduced. Professional is the key note.

Mode of Instruction

Who can take this course: For beginners who want to have an all-round knowledge of flower arranging in a short period of time. The course is suitable for hobbyists as well as serious learners who want to equip themselves with professional knowledge needed for day to day flower shop business. It’s a good course and the most popular course to take for those students who want to open or work in a flower shop within a short period of time.

Remarks: This is the most popular course for beginners who want to grasp professional foundation at all the 3 areas of flower arranging. More all round interest course for hobbyists. Those students who plan to open a flower shop, please take the FM after or together with CPD, to get the tips on opening and managing the flower shop in a cost effective way.

Class Schedule

Local class conducted in Chinese. International class conducted in English / bilingual.

For weekday classes, EFA in the first hour and FG in the second hour in one weekday, and JPBB in the first hour in the other weekday. If you take classes twice a week (the most popular schedule), it takes 4 months to finish.

If once a week, 2 lessons a day, it would takes 8 months.

If you take the schedule of 3 times a week in the evening with 1 lesson each time, then 25 weeks to finish.

For weekend classes, once every week, 3.75 hours each time :
(EFA in the first hour, followed by FG , then JPBB). The weekend class takes about 4 months (16 weeks) to finish.
